HENRY RAIMATO Obituary
Henry Dominick Raimato
Age 77, of Landenberg, PA, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 while vacationing in FL.
Henry was born January 19, 1928 in Kennett Square, PA to the late, James G. Raimato and the late Mafalada (Musischi) Raimato.
Henry was a life long resident of Chester County. He was a graduate of Kennett High School. Henry enlisted in the Merchant Marines at the age of 18 during WWII. He then worked as a truck driver for Mushroom Transportation for over 30 years, and received many commendations for his safe driving and courtesy. After his retirement, Henry then worked for 13 years at the DellaVecchia, Reilly & Smith Funeral Home, Inc. Henry was a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, West Grove, PA. He was also a member of the Italian American Citizens League, Loyal Order of the Moose, and co founder and first president of the Southern Chester County Rescue Association. Henry enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, Big Band music, motorcycles and trains.
He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Helen M. Raimato; and his brother, Robert Raimato. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Janet Raimato, of Landenberg, PA; sons, Henry Raimato and his wife, Shirley, and Dominick Raimato; daughters, Vicki R. Torello and her husband, Robert, Carol Sharp and her husband, Wayne, Debbie Falgowski and her husband, Edmond, and Chrissy Smethurst; brothers, James Raimato, Mario Raimato and his wife, Flossie, Michael Raimato and his wife, Elaine, and Frank Raimato and his companion, Carol; sister, Marie McMillian and her husband, Hugh; and 16 grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Assumption B.V.M. Church, 107 W. Evergreen St., West Grove, PA. Viewing will be from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the DELLAVECCHIA, REILLY & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 410 North Church Street, West Chester (610-696-1181), and from 10-11 am on Thursday, March 3 at the Assumption B.V.N. Church. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
